Are you ready to move your literacy into the age of digital media? Text is becoming defined as "anything that students can read, write, view, listen to, or explore, including books, photographs, films, articles, music, art, and more." More than ever before, "text" is becoming multimodal in many classrooms across the country as we prepare our students to be literate in all areas of their learning. Embedding media in all content areas and focusing on ELA standards will become a crucial piece for student academic growth. In this session, we will look at the ways you can incorporate videos, podcasts, audio clips, images, etc. using the same reading detective strategies as written text. Participants will leave with immediate ideas and resources for going beyond written text in their own classrooms. Join us to learn how to meaningfully implement media as text in your classroom!
