Mapping Made Easy with Google Sheets
In this hands-on session participants will 1) propose a compelling spatial question; 2) source geographic data from print and online sources; 3) enter data into Google Sheets; and 4) create a set of choropleth and/or symbol-based maps that display data variability spatially. Group discussion will be held to explain patterns discovered and suggest cartographically-correct methods of data representation. South Carolina teachers of Grades 7 and 9 social studies will find this session particularly useful. Participants should bring a laptop and have access to Google Sheets.

Edji: Digitally Transacting with a Text using Inquiry and Collaboration
Teachers, particularly in ELA, have a problem and Edji is a solution. The problem is that students are supposed to transact with a text, but they can’t write in their books, we don’t have enough copy counts, and many of us are pushed to use technology resources in our classroom. But with Edji, students can transact, inquire, and collaborate with a text and each other.  Bring a device to see what Edji can do for you.
